Hi Pip, just found out about you hrough an interview you recorded with Tee Morris on I Should Be Writing. I was so relieved to here there was at least one Kiwi writer doing the blogging/podcasting thing, as I was just setting mine up and hadn't found anyone else.

I'm part of the way into Chasing The Bard at the moment and I'm really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to getting into you other books.

I just put up a link to this site on my site, I hope that's okay?

Nice to see "I've Done My time" is a truism for you, but then does a yellow ribbon take a presidence ?

Listening to Tee's paraphrased broadcast on RNZ, there was a beginning prologue, but where was it really going .. waiting for the next chapter ? , or maybe RNZ needs to set up a dailogue via the net for a regular slot to educate more of the audience as to what social media and assoc issues / topics really is .. other than the marketing hype rolled by corporates trying to make a buck !!

Having sat thru a few nice corporate breakfasts, and listened it marketing types as to what SM really is for them, read CRM and more revenue gathering under license, it is only when reviewing a few websites / blogs with attached media for review [MP3, downloads, etc] that a wider understanding pervails.

Not just in a single genre of topic or interest, but as a more versatile resource for further education for the 'mobile' student of life beyond the walls of a paperback or library, and preferably the keyboards and SIM lives of the web of the net.

Nice to have met both Tee and yourself over banquet table, hopefully you can appreciate more that as Nalingi said " there are people out there whom understand me" - another Julius Vogel Award winner, NZ based author of paperbacks.

The old art of being blind to what's at home (called "homeblind" in swedish). I'm guilty of it too. I think it might be good to divide the marketing efforts in three
-homearea (wether english speaking or not)
-countries with english as first language; the US, GB, New Zealand etc.
-countries with a good grasp of english as a second language; India, the Scandinavian countries, Belgium, the Netherlands etc.

I'm only in the beginning of this, but I find it really neat that my texts can reach so many in so different cultures by using english. However, I'm planning to work one segment at a time - the world is a really big bite to take in one go...
